![]() If that works, then it probably points to a driver/software conflict that is loaded later in full mode?ĭo you have any codec pack installed? Problems can be experienced with some codec packs, however mostly it seems Klite may work OK and ffdshow often cures some issues but there are different experiences reported. It might be worthwhile to boot into safe mode, set the screen res to over the minimum for PD (1024 x 768, 16-bit color or above), load PD, load Richvideo when asked, and then try the same render trials. In my experience in these sort of circumstances, there may be 3 key areas to look at : Thanks for your help, and if you have any other suggestions, I am all ears. I would really like to find a solution to this problem since I actually paid money for this and am looking for something that has a simpler interface with a smaller learning curve than Blender seems to have. While I would like to believe that the problem is somewhere with my computer, the fact that I was able to use another (free) program to essentially do the same thing I was attempting with PD10, leads me to believe that it is a software issue. I was thinking I may have had some bad RAM because of the exception code contained in the minidump file indicates such, but like I said, the tests I did came back clean. I also removed all the other video editing software I had installed (Nero, Creative, etc) and ran CCleaner before re-installing PD10, just to eliminate any possible software conflicts and registry issues.Īlso ran a memory test using memtest and a stress test using BurnIn and didn't have any problems with either. If anyone has any real experience with Powerdirector crashing I would LOVE to hear from you.Thank you for your responses, I realize that there could be many problems and I was just getting frustrated yesterday.Īs for your suggestion, I already uninstalled and re-installed. My project is a mixture of photos, gopro filmed at 60fps and drone footage also at 60fps all at 1080p which isn't too extreme in this day and age. Support has since asked me to check Windows Event Log and report back any Errors, which I have done but have heard nothing back from them. The TEMP file thing seemed to work, it gave me a little longer before a crash occured, but I am still crashing out. ![]() ![]() Try deleting the TEMP files, update to latest patch (which was odd since I had only just downloaded full program direct from Cyberlink!). ![]() So, purchased an extra 8GB RAM taking me up to 16GB installed (even though task manager wasn't reporting high RAM usage). In the end I figured it must be due to RAM shortage, since it ran fine whilst my project was short. I have been through the forums - got rid of Geforce Experience, closed down all unecessary applications, updated all media drivers to latest but I am still getting frequent crashes. This didn't seem to be the case initially, but once my project was over the 1 hour mark I have been getting lots of PDR.exe has stopped messages. I'm pretty new to PowerDirector (only purchased about 5 days ago) however I have been running into problems with the program crashing pretty often. ![]()
